As the series goes on, my rating keeps dropping little by little. It had an outstanding start and created one of the most intriguing mysteries I’ve seen in years. But maintaining that level is just as important as making a great first impression.
My biggest concern is that the story may be stretched simply because it’s successful. Mystery doesn’t become better by endlessly piling up unanswered questions; it becomes memorable when those questions are answered in a satisfying and well-timed way.
I sincerely hope the creators don’t sacrifice this series for profit. Every great story deserves an ending that comes at the right time—not after it has outlived its purpose. Otherwise, it risks becoming yet another brilliant show that eventually collapsed under the weight of its own mystery.
A masterpiece knows not only how to begin, but also when to end.
