Flipper saves the day more times than you can count, helping kids, catching bad guys, and basically doing everything except driving a boat. It is wholesome, lighthearted, and full of that 60s TV charm. Sure it is cheesy by today’s standards, but it is still a fun watch and a piece of TV history. Hard not to smile when that theme song kicks in.

Flipper, een tuimelaar, is het gezelschapsdier van Porter Ricks, hoofdopzichter van het fictieve Coral Key Park and Marine Preserve in het zuiden van Florida, en zijn twee jonge zoons, Sandy en Bud. De serie werd ook wel een “aquatische Lassie” genoemd en tijdens de eerste uitzendingen werd er een aanzienlijke hoeveelheid jeugdige merchandise geproduceerd die op de serie was geïnspireerd.
