Where to Watch Wendigo
- Spencer MB10 oktober 2025*Watched the 4K Dolby Vision HDR remaster I agree with everyone else in saying this film is very well crafted on a technical level. My 2 big complaints is that it felt like nothing happened, and the “wendigo” was barely a presence. Yes, it does fully appear and maim Otis & freak out the kid by looming over the father but that’s it. I couldn’t figure out how the wendigo myth played into the father-hunter conflict’s dynamic at all. I guess maybe Otis/the hunter’s constant pursuit of vengeance is like the wendigo’s infinite hunger? I guess I was expecting what everything else does and make the cannibalism element of the wendigo myth to be the main conflict. I guess I must have missed something because, unless the kid taking the small totem was the catalyst, I have no clue why the wendigo was even appearing based on the myth.

Kim( Patricia Clarkson) en George McLAren( Jake Weber) vertrekken met hun zoontje Miles voor een weekend naar de bergen. Wat een lekker weekendje uit had moeten worden, ontaard in een verschrikkelijke nachtmerrie. Ze stranden met de auto nadat ze per ongeluk een hert aanrijden. Hiermee halen ze zich de woede van de jagers op hun hals. Eenmaal aangekomen op de plaats van bestemming, ontmoet de jonge Miles een indiaan die hem vertelt over een mythe van Wendigo, een rondzwervend wezen. Miles neemt vervolgens dingen te zien die niet kunnen bestaan. Is de myhte realiteit? Zijn de McLarens hun leven nog wel zeker.
