- jackmeat6 augustus 2025My quick rating - 5.6/10. Surprisingly effective low-budget sci-fi flick from the mid-80s. The old-time jumpers chasing zombies story. Ok, so it is actually an original idea that was explored here. A brief 76 minutes that fly by since the action is fairly non-stop. Also, I had completely forgotten that a very early Helen Hunt is our heroine in this one, next to Jack Deth, played by Tim Thomerson. For its time, it actually holds up still. Synopsis: "Angel City trooper Jack Deth is sent back in time from 2247 to 1985 L.A. to inhabit the body of his ancestor. Deth's assignment is to find his archenemy, Whistler, who turns people into zombies, before the fiend is able to kill all the ancestors of the future's governing council."

Het is het jaar 2247. Angel City, het vroegere Los Angeles, wordt geterroriseerd door een moordzuchtige sekte: de Trancers. Mannen en vrouwen die zich volledig aan de gewelddadige wil van hun leider Whistler onderwerpen. Er is maar één man die Whistler voorgoed kan uitschakelen: Jack Deth. De raadsleden van de stad geven Jack opdracht Whistler voorgoed uit te schakelen. Maar Whistler reist terug in de tijd met een sinister plan. In 1985 wil hij de voorouders van de raadsleden vermoorden. Jack Deth reist hem na. In het oude Los Angeles krijgt hij hulp van de mooie Lenna. Samen maken ze wanhopig jacht op de waanzinnige Whistler. Keer op keer aangevallen door zijn nieuwe volgelingen.
