The Iron Claw Ratings & Reviews
- Ryan Kelly28 februari 2026INSANE true story, great performances and cinematography! Definitely recommend.
- Rick12 februari 2025I was really looking forward to this movie and kinda feel let down. There were several instances where the editing just didn’t quite work out for me, and left the movie feeling jumpy and slightly incoherent. I was very impressed with all the performances in the film though.
- nikkis41518 februari 2026Not 100 percent accurate but what movie is? If your a professional wrestling fan you'll love it. The movie is definitely a tear jerker. Only complaint I have is the actor they got for ric flair it felt very phoned in.
- Austin Burke30 mei 2025A24’s The Iron Claw features Zac Efron’s BEST performance yet. This shocking true story hits hard. What begins as a familiar family drama morphs into a powerful look at emotional abuse and how far someone can be pushed. Also, Holt McCallany is incredible. It is a truly phenomenal and ultimately powerful film.
- otoruk4 oktober 2025A tear-jerker that will have you finding the nearest tissue box. A beautful story.
- Chris C15 september 2025I think this movie would hit harder for big wrestling fans, but I still thought it was very well done. The acting was excellent in general, but particularly so for Zac Efron and Holt McCallany. That said, it was also a tough movie to watch, both due to everything that happens to the family as well as how unlikeable so many of the characters were. Aside from the very, very end, this certainly is not a portrayal of healthy family dynamics.
- PlexCannon17 februari 2025Great film with beefy dudes
- tellum18 augustus 2025I am a lifelong wrestling fan so I have a different perspective. For historical accuracy this is poor, there are omissions and changes that don’t even make sense based on the story being told. For acting this is excellent, Holt McCallany was perfect as Fritz, Harris Dickinson was perfect as David, and Zac and Jeremy were very close to Kevin and Kerry. This is a good movie but also a very depressing story and one of the most tragic tales in wrestling, so don’t hold any hope for a happy resolution.
- parktool691 december 2024too sad
- Nick Banas15 augustus 2025Incredible A24 film. I was glued to the story the entire time.
- Rick Fox14 augustus 2025This movie will make you cry or at least choke up a little.
- Cod Eye8 augustus 2025Can’t tell you how much I love this film! As a wrestling fan for almost 40 years, I was very familiar with the Von Erich story, so wish the director would have included ALL the brothers, and also touched on how Fritz exploited his sins death for profit. Also, that is the worst Ric Flair ever?
- mickerdoo7 augustus 2025Relentless like a ton of bricks falling on you repeatedly. It's a shame they never realized the root of their curse. Tremendously acted.
- SPAWN771 augustus 2025A hauntingly powerful biopic that portrays the Von Erich family. Outstanding performances from Zac Efron but was expecting a lot more from Jeremy Allen White, who is just brilliant in the series “The Bear”
- Kevin Ward2 juli 2025Finally had a chance to sneak out to the theaters and catch this one. December can be a little hard to make it to the cinema when the kids are out of school and holiday gatherings are happening. This a such tragic story. Zac Efron gives a career best performance. Loved the entire cast though. Holt McCallany plays such a great hard ass. All of the Von Erich boys (Dickinson, White, Simons, Efron) have such great brotherly chemistry. Maura Tierney and Lily James were both excellent as well, but I wish they had gotten a little more screen time and development—particularly Tierney. Sean Durkin’s direction is extremely assured, the wrestling segments are well captured and well choreographed. The re-creations of the wrestling broadcasts and interviews are nearly pitch perfect. It’s an really impressive looking film with a warm nostalgic feel as the story opens. But when the tragedies start to mount, the film rapidly descends into a soul crushing journey. Fortunately, soul crushing feels good in a place like this. Definitely one of the years best.
