- PhysicalMedia4Life3 juni 2026On a lot of these crime programmes a lot of the time the question that always seems to pop up is [Are serial killers born evil or made that way] well "The Good Son" answers that question even though this film isn't a true story; but it does tell us that no matter what your background is or how well you were raised and all of that important stuff. Most of the time imo and this movies opinion it's just in you and that's it. And "The Good Son" explores & conveys that very powerfully & effectively!! Also there's a reason why "Macouley Culkin" is widely considered to be the best child actor of all time; to go from Home Alone 1 & 2 and Uncle Buck; to playing the part of an emerging serial killer in such a very believable, haunting, creepy & dark way that deserves so much praise 👏👏👏 I thought he was outstanding tbh. And a big shout out to "Elijah Wood" he's also brilliant here as well both him & Macauley Culkin worked very well together. Also I love the setting of the house. The whole finale on the cliff, was very very gripping and had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. Overall "The Good Son" is a film that is criminally underrated!! This is a film I can't recommend enough to people, it's fantastic from start to finish. And my Ratings/Scores for "The Good Son" is ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ & a 10/10 👍👍

De jonge Mark (Elijah Wood) belooft zijn zwaar zieke moeder dat hij haar niet zal laten sterven. Zijn moeder sterft toch en Mark wordt korte tijd later door zijn vader naar familie gebracht om enkele weken bij hen door te brengen. Hij kan er spelen met zijn neefje Henry (Macaulay Culkin), die van zijn eigen leeftijd is, en het jongere nichtje Connie. Henry sleept Mark mee in spelletjes die soms gevaarlijk maar altijd amusant zijn. Stilaan wordt het Mark duidelijk dat Henry pervers is en dat hij tot monsterlijke dingen in staat is. Voor de buitenwereld houdt Henry echter het masker van de voorbeeldige jongen op.
