i just finished rewatching this for the second time, and it's just so damn good! I can't wait for the next thing this director does..

Unfortunately, it didn’t grab me, or scare me in the slightest. It’s a mishmash of a few themes, based on jump-scare tropes, which are somehow supposed to come together by the end. The problem is that, whether it’s the disjointed plot structure, the direction, or perhaps the actors – nothing here moved me. It’s not even worth comparing to When Evil Lurks.

Once again, Rugna plumbs the depths of our darkest fears and unearths a truly shocking tale of urban horror. It's not quite up to the standard of Where Evil Lurks, but it remains head and shoulders above most modern horror.

This is a total masterclass in sustained dread. Instead of relying on cheap "in-your-face" scares, Demián Rugna focuses on a slow, suffocating buildup where the tension never truly lets up. The scares are incredibly effective because they feel earned and grounded in a reality that's just "off." Maximiliano Ghione’s performance as Detective Funes is a standout—his portrayal of pure, palpable terror gives the film its emotional weight. Rugna is officially a director to watch; I can’t wait to see what nightmares he dreams up next
