- theLillyPad17 februari 2025If you have watched a bunch of 50's era monster flicks, this doesn't bring anything new to the table, but it does do it all well. I'm embarrassed to say that, as someone who already has a phobia of real-life Tarantulas, this flick genuinely frightened me at parts (or at least made my stomach turn!) It has everything you would hope for from such a film: melodrama! scientific hubris! And, of course, a seen where a bunch of scientists sit in a room and explain how a normal sized version of the animal works.

Dr. Matthew Hastings wordt belast met het onderzoek naar een lijk in het laboratorium van Professor Deemer. Deemer vertelt een warrig verhaal en Hastings wordt achterdochtig. Deemer blijkt te werken aan een groeiserum en door zijn psychotische assistent is Deemer geïnjecteerd met het serum en een tarantula is ontsnapt uit het lab. Deemer verandert langzaam maar zeker terwijl de spin steeds verder groeit en alles op zijn weg vermorzelt. Hastings en een biologie-assistente haasten zich met het waarschuwen van de mensen in de omgeving.
