Het is 2029. Het bedrijf OmniCorp staat aan de basis van robottechnologieën. Hun robots winnen over de hele wereld oorlogen voor de Verenigde Staten en nu wil het bedrijf de technologie ook in eigen land gaan gebruiken. Als Alex Murphy, een vader en politieagent, in Detroit neergeschoten wordt, blijkt hij het perfecte proefkonijn te zijn voor OmniCorp. Murphy wordt tot een half mens, half robot gemaakt, en is al snel weer in staat over de straten van de stad te lopen. Daar moet hij uitdagingen het hoofd bieden die hij als 'gewone' man nog nooit eerder had meegemaakt.

- Richard19 december 2025Streamed this one, and… yeah, it really reminds you how untouchable the original is. All the sleek black armor and corporate gloss in the world can’t hide the fact that this reboot has the emotional depth of a bad firmware update. It tries to be edgy, tries to be meaningful, tries to be something, but mostly ends up feeling like a committee approved imitation of a movie that actually had bite. It’s watchable in that “sure, it’s on” kind of way, but it never comes close to the grit, satire, or sheer personality of the 1987 version. Fine for background noise, but it won’t make you forget the real RoboCop.

- Lord_Tulkas29 augustus 2025When making a remake, it's impossible not to make comparisons... and, in that regard, this movie doesn't come up looking good. I don't think it's a BAD movie, it's just that it doesn't live up to expectations... I probably would like it better if I never watched the original RoboCop movie... I like the story, the effects, the new suit design and the casting, especially (as usual) Gary Oldman's interpretation... it just falls short regarding its predecessor...

- Greg Winston3 oktober 2025Better than I remember. I had forgotten that Jackie Earle Haley, Micaheal Keaton, Sam L. Jackson and Gary Oldman round out the cast, which was suprising and pleasant, and probably saved the movie. Good modern telling re-telling, but the PG-13 bloodless action doesn't quite hit the mark.
