We are supposed to believe these people are some of humanities greatest minds, but most of them act so unbelievably incompetent I have difficulties believing they could go to the bathroom unsupervised.

- jackmeat27 januari 2025My quick rating - 7.5/10. This is an excellent sci-fi flick. Interesting way to start a review, eh? It looks spectacular visually and in terms of editing. The story itself is unique (I believe it was a comic book at some point) but either way, the plot will draw you in. Noomi Rapace does an excellent job in the lead, but no surprise there, she is a great actress. I did find the other characters a tad bit irritating aside from the Captain. Charlize Theron was used sparingly so not much to say (I read she was also considered for the lead). The action scenes are paced nicely and are used when needed but not overdone. When the action scenes were used, they were filmed so well even with the mix of CGI but I almost didn't even notice, well, almost lol. The obvious influence of the late H.R. Giger was also a nice touch, giving homage to the great artwork he graced us with. At 2 hours long, I was hard-pressed to even notice how long it was since I was that into the film. One way to end this short blurb is I am looking forward to the sequel which is coming in 2017. I believe any sci-fi fan would agree and will be looking forward to it as well. Non-sci-fi fans most likely will appreciate an interesting story and well-made movie so my final thought, see it.

How often does a master filmmaker get to revisit their original oeuvre and recreate an even bigger world around and about it? The myth of the engineers and their world changing experimentation is absolutely romantic, compelling and terrifying at the same time.
- marshalsea23 augustus 2025Stupid People Do Stupid Things In Space and Die! If it wasn't an Alien film it would be better, but it is... And it fails. Not as badly as Alien Covenant, which was truly awful: Stupid People Do Even More Stupider Things In Space and Die. Another film, like AC where the actors and sets aren't to blame, in fact look amazing. It's another where the story sucks donkey ahole. Lindelhof's continued "Wouldn't it be cool if..." ruins what was a serviceable script by Spaights. (Go read the original it's not bad - bit Star Gate naff in places but hey ho.). Has he been removed from the pool yet? If you've got the blu-ray with the making of it's great to watch Spaights go "That crap bit, that's Lindelhof" and then it switches to Lindelhof expounding on his great he is and he wrote that crap bit.
- ርልዪረ7 februari 2025... It's not a Prequel. It's a new film in the Alien universe with a separate storyline. I was disappointed it did not show a back story to Alien 1979 but also pleased that Ridley produced a sci-fi masterclass. A simple script that barely juggled big topics but it was good enough for a theatrical release. I suspect Fox had a hand with it being different from Alien, but Ridley in conferences held for Prometheus did say it is not a Prequel. That said a lot of ignorant Alien fans continued to dream stubbornly for a Alien prequel and got a big shock on June first 2012.
- PhysicalMedia4Life4 mei 2026While the cinematography is gorgeous and the scale of the world is truly breathtaking, the film struggles with its identity as a prequel. For me, the original power of the Alien franchise came from the unknown; by attempting to map out the origins of the Xenermorph. Prometheus strips away the mystery and that's what made the OG Alien so haunting & terrifying is the unknown. Michael Fassbender's performance as David is the productions crowning achievment bringing such an unsettling energy to the screen. Also Noomi Ropace & Charlize Theron deliver very solid & grounded performances as well. Ultimately, Prometheus is a stunning technical achievement that would have fared much better as a standalone Sci-Fi epic than as a satisfying origin story. It is a beautiful thought provoking journey that proves some secrets are left buried. And finally my Ratings/Scores for Prometheus are 3.5 🌟 Stars & a 6.5/10

- borhan931 juli 2026I watched this movie without any backstory, and after reading a few lines of other reviews, I can see this is already linked to the Aliens franchise, and honestly, this is kinda Sci-Fi is not my thing. I just wanted to give it a shot and see if it was any good. Honestly, with the A++ cast, they did as well as they could with the story and script, but I really did not jump into the pilot seat and go for a ride. Just a tick over two hours long, and we went nowhere very slowly; it was a slow build-up to the action. A story about going to another planet or space to find a life form that created us, but really, did they create us or was it something else? A cast that includes Charlize Theron and Idris Elba, and Michael Fassbender as a non-human robot. This movie also had Benedict Wong, and is it me, or did he have only a few lines in the movie? I wish this movie was better. I expect more from Ridley Scott no wonder this is leaving Netflix soon. One of the cool scenes in the movie was the medical bed that would use AI to do a medical or operation procedure for the human. You get to see an abdominal surgery kinda which was cool. In some scenes, it felt like a console game, and you could see this go into game form and you finishing a final boss of sorts. The special effects were good, but the storyline again dropped the ball. This is watchable, but you could also sleep through this. Not suitable for the kids!!!
