This is a truly amazing film, a testimony to the wonders of CGI, in which cities rise and fall and cliff faces crash, in dreams within dreams within dreams, Here, dreams are the business of conman Leonardo DiCaprio, who uses them to plant ideas in the minds of opponents of his clientele, mega-rich, multinational corporations. It's a dangerous business, and wow, spectacular things happen in those dreams that could never happen in real life. The dreams need architects, and while the true architect, of course, is director Christopher Nolan, DiCaprio's architect and right-hand girl is Ellen Page, never better. Also giving sterling support are Joseph Gordon-Levitt as his right-hand man and Marion Cotillard as his dead wife, who has a nasty habit of turning up in the dreams and, believe me, she can be a bit of a nuisance. The film is a thriller. We become genuinely invested in these characters and care what happens to them, although the ending, in keeping with everything that has gone before, has a certain ambiguity. The whole is mind-blowing and, quite literally, out of this world. So, a film of enormous originality, worth every one of its five stars ten times over.

    Best movie ever

Christopher Nolan is an odd one for me, as he sometimes does movies I absolutely love, like "Interstellar" or "Dunkirk", but also creates films like this one, which is so overrated I don't even know what to say. But let's try: so in this movie people have found a way to go inside someone's mind when they're dreaming. Cool idea. But wait! While inside someone's dream, they can go inside another dream. And another, and another. Several levels down, with no limit. Cue the confusing plot and no likable characters. And no, it's not a "you didn't understand the movie". It's actually a "why mess up a cool concept with unnecessary complications". Anyway, I really tried liking this movie, but it was impossible. Two stars for some nice directing and cast. By the way, "Rick and Morty" did a parody of this movie, and it's much more entertaining, probably because it doesn't complicate as much.

A rare blockbuster that treats its audience like they have a PhD in logic. While the exposition can be dense, the payoff is one of the most debated endings in cinema history. It’s a masterclass in practical effects (like that rotating hallway) and a poignant look at how guilt can become a literal ghost that haunts your own mind.

A classic movie by one of films best directors

If good films are marked by rewarding repeat viewings, then the best are marked by completely transforming one's perspective through repeat viewings. Inception is in the second category. The script quickly establishes a simple set of rules, and the screenplay takes the viewer on a journey of bending them as far as they'll go. The performances of the actors and the unforgettable Zimmer soundtrack come along to create a cinematic masterpiece that's approachable enough to be good after one watch, but truly great after many.

Watched this with the kids and despite the rather convoluted plot, my kids were able to follow along with everything pretty well. We had to pause a few times to get my youngest up to speed. A real credit to Christopher Nolan direction that’s the dream within a dream within a dream within a dream doesn’t take too much brain contortion to comprehend everything that’s happening.  With an incredible cast from top to bottom, this puts an ultra cool sci-fi spin on the star studded heist movie. Definitely an all-time favorite of mine.
