- KillerRoo9 juli 2026I'm sorry I slept on this movie for so long. I am not a horror-genre fan. I saw a snippet about the lore and got interested. This was a very good horror movie, it kept me interested throughout while not feeling rushed or frantic. The pacing is great. The movie takes its time when it counts, the "action" horror parts are played decently well, and visually the physical effects are incredibly well done. There is a lot hanging on suspension of disbelief for some of the characters' dialog & decisions being made, but it didn't detract from the overall creepy vibe of the film. I'll be interested to watch more of the series, though my expectations remain tempered.
- tellum19 augustus 2025Classic horror movie that blends a slasher with cosmic horror, and the acting and story telling is surprisingly good. Stylized film making for the time and the aesthetic of the cenobites still holds up. My only criticism is the ending is rushed and could have been constructed better, but still ends in a pretty cool way.

Not only because you watch now in 2026 and it stands-up to time, but also because it was not made this year, it was made long ago when the special effects and genre were not so easy to produce on and off stage. Both for technology of movie making, but also the politics of movie making and the censorship authorities towards this genre at the time. This is part of Americana, and this is a must for anyone who even remotely enjoys horror and gore movies. But really, for anyone that loves movies, point blank!
- Rocco DOrazio29 december 2024The first half builds this highly developed emotional plot, but by the second half, it discards that ambitious story and regresses to a typical horror film. Other than the world building of the demons, Clare Higgins is the star. She channels this unbridled force throughout, reminding me of a lot of characters in Brian de Palma's films. Sags in the middle with one too many murder in the attic scenes and a few sequences that seemed to be included for thrills rather than used to build upon the deeper meaning.
