Top badass moment? Well, they do say there’s an app for everything these days, although the one featured in this film isn’t currently available from Google Play; (yes, I checked). I couldn’t check the Apple App Store as I’m poor and not obsessed with my public image. First things first. What on earth was that janitor doing? Standing there on the stairs, in a huge, derelict building, randomly scraping the paint off a bit of wall with all the urgency of a dead and squashed snail on Nitrazepam; at the rate he was going I doubt he’d ever have finished the whole job before dying of old age, although to be fair (spoiler alert) he doesn’t get the chance anyway. We never find out anything about him, not even his name, other than he likes to whistle; if anyone ever needed to be wearing a red shirt, it's him. So, three wokeish tech students, who don’t appear to have any families, or classes to attend, or any other friends for that matter, find a bit of kit that reminded me of those big, pedestal mounted TV studio camaras from the 60’s, and discover it can detect ghosts. For some reason this seems to piss most of the latter off, although I’m not exactly sure why, but hey, I’ve never met a friendly ghost either, so maybe being dead and probably left existing in some sort of agonising Purgatory for all of eternity is a bit of a downer that can easily put you in a bad mood. Technically it’s great, the plot is good, the script’s a bit scrappy (too much gets forgotten about or is just confusing), and the acting’s fine. It was even a bit creepy at times. The sound designer had obviously discovered how much fun they can have putting loads of noise through the rear speakers, too. It was better than I expected. No cats, chainsaws or decapitations.

The dubbing in the film was terrible. I really don't understand why the acting is so artificial when so many people get together and make a film based on a script. The script was passable. I just wanted to give it a chance because it's in the fantasy category. Is it watchable? If you're looking for something fantastic or can't find anything else to watch, I'd say give it a look. Otherwise, it's not very good. Still, thanks for your effort.
