The acting is bad, the sets look cheap, and the whole “pit one gang against another” plot feels like somebody watched A Fistful of Dollars, missed the point completely, and then rewrote it on a napkin during a lunch break. Bronson was 65 by this point, and the movie can’t quite hide it, even while still absurdly insisting he can juggle a much younger girlfriend and mow through drug dealers like it’s 1974. Critics were not exactly kind either, with old reviews treating it as tired, cynical franchise maintenance rather than anything resembling a real comeback. There’s still a little trashy pleasure in watching Kersey go to war, but this one feels less like a movie and more like a bargain-bin echo of the earlier films. Cheaply written, cheaply made, and clearly trying to piggyback on past glory after the horse had already left town. Not recommended.
