My quick rating - 3.3/10. It wasn't completely unwatchable, just not far above a student film. The acting is bad; that much should be front and center. Past that, the movie takes a very overused plot design for slashers of the bullied kid sent off to an institution, only to return years later and murder the bullies. They also didn't use any creativity in altering this storyline. So it is highly unlikely you will be duped by their twist here, but admittedly, they also didn't destroy it. For the most part, the aesthetics of the flick are better than you expect from the acting. In other words, let's keep an eye out for those behind the scenes (first-time director David Lipper) I don't think they stretched too far to act like the moronic Internet-raised idiots they acted like in the film. One by one, they get picked off in mediocre slasher fashion. I am a bit astonished how someone could create an app that, if you don't pass on, you get killed, and then this whole thing is somehow backed by a central server to keep track of how the app spreads. They did attempt an explanation, but the way they obviously didn't get any technical consultants to alert them to the impossibility of what they are saying. But give them credit for not going the "who knows how it works, pass it on so we don't die" as a couple of the other horror flicks have done. Still, there is worse; just don't expect much more than a passable 88 very forgettable minutes.
