Directed by Michael Spierig, Peter SpierigAnno 2019 heeft een massale ziekte vrijwel de hele wereldbevolking omgevormd tot vampiers. Eén minpuntje: de voorraad mensen is beperkt en door een drastisch bloedtekort beginnen de minderbedeelden onder de vampiers te transformeren in vleermuisachtige gedrochten. Het is aan wetenschapper Edward om een bloedvervanger te fabriceren, maar wanneer hij in contact komt met een ondergrondse mensengroepering en een mogelijk genezingsmiddel voor vampirisme ontdekt, wordt ook hij een doelwit van zijn eigen organisatie.

- GBKSoloAlbum20269 december 2025I’ve Seen this movie around the release date 2009 . I found it 2 b good then..and now almost 16 years later i watched it again. I can truly say that it holds up good. The storyline is a great look on vampires ruling the world,and at what cost. The effects are good still and the acting is good 2. No Oscar performances,but thats not what the movie calls 4. Just good acting great storytelling and scenery. And well …William Dafoe, Ethan Hawke..i mean win win😄 If you havent seen it ..do so…its wort it✌️😎✨

- Kevin Ward7 juli 2025This was honestly really fun. Some cool world building imagining a world where vampirism has taken over, but Capitalism and Politics still reigns supreme. Ethan Hawke, Sam Neil, Willem Dafoe …. I mean, what else do you need? A final shot of a murdered out Trans Am driving off into the sunset perhaps? Oh, this has that too. A bloody and fun, high concept vampire flick.

- ርልዪረ24 januari 2025A good vampire film with a smart narrative assumption (which is also a not so hidden metaphor of our times to come). I just don't like the ending: as usual, after showing a distopian future and the worst side of Humanity, Hollywood films take a step back when it comes to end the story in a coherent way. Here, unfortunately, the mainstream ending don't match what you've seen and lived up to that.
