Yuri Tatsumi breaks free from the chains of her family and runs away. She now lives as a freeter and resides at the cheap apartment complex Copo in Osaka. Other residents there include Hiroshi Nakajo, Teppei Ishida, and Yuzo Miyaji. These residents all have their own stories. Hiroshi makes a living by receiving contributions from women. Teppei does labor work and he is not good at expressing his feelings to women. Yuzo doesn't talk about his past and he seems to be involved in a suspicious business. One day, Yuzo finds that another resident there named Yamaguchi has hanged himself to death. Yuri and her neighbors sees Yamaguchi's death and they look back on their lives.
