Guy Trilby (Jason Bateman), een 40-jarige man, ontdekt een fout in de toelatingsregels van de Nationale Spelwedstrijd en besluit hiervan misbruik te maken. Good cast, but I really found the racism and the portrayal of child abuse as humour unsettling and unfunny.

Not sure if this movie is funny enough to excuse it's casual racism, even though it thinks it pulls it off. Professor Indiana Jones calling a Chinese boy "Short Round" as a sobriquet is NOT the same as a nobody, spelling bee loser calling an Indian Boy "Slumdog" or, "Chai-Walla" or, a bunch more. Still, it's pretty funny if you can take a fucking joke. And it has a pinch of heart.
