Absentia
Directed by Mike FlanaganTricia's echtgenoot Daniel wordt al zeven jaar vermist. Haar jongere zus Callie komt bij haar wonen als de druk groot wordt om hem officieel dood te laten verklaren ('dead in absentia'). Terwijl Tricia de gevolgen van de vermissing probeert te verwerken en haar leven weer op te pakken, wordt Callie aangetrokken door een angstaanjagende tunnel vlak bij hun huis. Als zij deze tunnel begint te verbinden aan andere mysterieuse verdwijningen, wordt het duidelijk dat Daniel's vermeende dood alles behalve natuurlijk is. De oeroude kracht die in de tunnel actief is heeft mogelijk zijn oog laten vallen op Callie en Tricia..... en Daniel ondergaat waarschiijnlijk een lot erger dan de dood.

- Daniel Gustavsson12 oktober 2024Not as good as occulus, but really close. The movie is very slow, but it is so well made that the intensity never really lets go. You always keep wondering what is going to happen next. The story does have some logic flaws, but because of how interesting everything is, it doesn't really get distracting.

- Nyxus_18 maart 2025A lot of potential and a lot of build-up for... so much nothing. The pacing was all over the place (don't get me started on the classic internet-research exposition scene), and, while these kinds of movies are supposed to thrive on keeping as much unknown as possible, this left out too many details. I feel like 15-30 more minutes of movie could've filled in the gaps a little more; as it is, it feels rushed and empty.
