- DARTH VADER3d agoThis Wrong Turn Reboot, had so much story & lore attached to it, that it really elevated the whole narrative and film as a whole, it was undoubtedly this movies biggest strength. I also loved the foreshadowing of Darius whole character development in the beginning of the movie! Where he says he would give anything for equality with all races and later on in the movie, after him and Jennifer are caught by the tribe and then Darius has the chance to escape with Jennifer, he rejects leaving and sees that tribe as his home and new life because of the equality that it has going on there in that culture & community, that's brilliant foreshadowing & development of the Darius character. I thought that Jennifer was a great Final Girl and had a great Character development of her own and I loved how she slowly grew stronger & stronger throughout the movie. I really loved this completely different take that they decided they with in this Reboot, I thought that it was very creative and was all very interesting! I really loved all of the kills in this, they were all very brutal, gnarly & very creative which is crucial in a horror film. I also thought the movies ending while, the closing credits were happening at the same time, was really awesome! On my recent rewatch of this, it has now surpassed the OG Wrong Turn and has become my favourite Wrong Film film of the entire franchise!
- jonathanmochrieNovember 21, 2025As Reboots go, this is one of the best that I've seen. Elements of Jim Jones and his peoples temple. Strong enough story that keeps the movie interesting right up to the end. Well worth a watch.
- Scott ThomasOctober 28, 2025This was so, so, SO much better than I thought it would be. I think it was totally underrated.
- jackmeatMay 14, 2025My quick rating - 5.3/10. Not the greatest reboot, but then again, they were working with material I really didn't think needed to come back. I was fine with the first one, even though it was more just a glamorized version of The Hills Have Eyes but this one was trotting down the same Appalachian path except dealing with cast out members of society. This group of kids finds more of a "cult" living away from civilization, awaiting the impending doom of the world. The movie still does look good, especially if you like forest scenes, and it does create a believable habitat they live in. When the hikers cross paths with the "Foundation," is when all turns south. The story here does a bit of a spin in putting the blame onto the kids and not the community they have stumbled upon. But doesn't this always happen when you are warned to stay on the path? The pacing is fine, and you will be hard pressed to realize that it is Matthew Modine. But at the end, I have seen much worse (the many sequels), but I have also mentioned far better. Either way, the "Wrong Turn" series was just a more fun look at this subject, where The Hills Have Eyes (Wes Craven) was far more raw and brutal, dealing with cannibals and savages.
