- Josh C10 de outubro de 2025I was excited for this movie for a few different reasons; it’s the writer and director of the original The Strangers movie as well as its sequel plus the trailer looked great. That’s where it begins and ends unfortunately. The movie branches off into too many directions without resolve to any of the places it takes us. The loop is never closed for you to have a clear understanding of the certainty of the point of the story. The movie dragged on for far too long and it leaves you having many more questions than answers to make the whole thing make sense. If Dakota Fanning wasn’t such a good actress then this movie would be mostly unwatchable. It bums me out to think of what this movie ended up being vs what it could have been.

There are some very interesting concepts to be explored and there was a variety of horror inclusive of body, emotional, and a few jump scares. However, the story was lacking. No exploration of the lore behind what was happening to her. No exploration around what each choice meant “Something you hate, need, and love” these could all be unique to the individual and there was no rule that said it was the greatest or only thing. A bit more exploration could have opened this to be a worthy franchise. Unfortunately, it was mediocre but it continues the reemergence of Dakota Fanning which is worthwhile in of itself.
