Vesper Ratings & Reviews
- SkrapMetalXNMay 27, 2025Incredible film. Science fiction at its finest. It's not flashy and doesn't need to be.
- Kevin WardJuly 6, 2025I typically love the world building aspects of these weird indie sci-fi films and Vesper is no exception. The production design is really impressive and it’s one of a few films where I think I was drawn in completely by the image on the poster. This dystopian world has a sharp divide between the classes. Those that live in (presumed) luxury at the citadels and those that scavenge for survival. When 13 y/o Vesper (Rafiella Chapman) see a citadel ship crash near her home along with a mysterious passenger, it presents an opportunity for her to potentially gain entrance to a citadel. There isn’t anything particularly unique about the story here, but the marriage of the concept and the visuals and score works really well, even if the drama unfolds in a rather slow and methodical fashion. May not be for everyone, but enjoy my time being immersed in this strange world. Really beautiful song plays out the end credits, too.
