V/H/S/Halloween Ratings & Reviews
- theicephoenix9 października 2025Well folks, I just watched this new movie called V/H/S/Halloween and let me tell you it is about as crazy as a raccoon in a porta potty. Six different spooky stories all jammed together like a bag of trick or treat candy you did not sort yet. One minute you are laughin at a killer soda commercial and the next you are sittin there tighter than a bullfrog in a mailbox. Now not every story is a home run. Some of them hit you like a king size Snickers and some of them taste like them nasty orange peanut candies that only your grandma likes. But that is the deal with these anthology movies. You never know if you are gonna get a treat or a trick. I will say the good parts more than make up for the slow ones. There are scenes in here that will stick in your brain longer than your neighbor’s Christmas lights in March. It is weird, it is gory, it is funny and it is the kind of Halloween fun that makes you wanna stay up way too late eatin candy you promised to the kids. So here is my verdict. Four stars out of five. Not perfect but dang good. If you want a movie to fire up with your buddies on Halloween night this one is it.🎃

- Stankss6 października 2025it was okay for a VHS flick actually! i enjoyed this one way more than the last one! but it absolutely does not hold anything on the first ones :D either way, i was not bored while watching it. which is a impressive feat these days for me.
- Midwestpenpal3 kwietnia 2026Absolute garbage piece of shit movie. It’s complete waste of any budget it had. Even if it was $1 (very possible).
- NamesMatter31 marca 2026This series just keeps getting worse.
- Paul Walsh3 marca 2026My favorite Halloween anthology film. I enjoyed all segments, but the Kidprint segment does seem tonally off in comparison to the other stories. It is still a great segment; it just doesn't play well with the other segments' tones.
- cultfilmliker6 października 2025“You are going to get another fungal infection!” You’re never gonna believe me but this horror anthology film is kind of a mixed bag That said, I’ll always be here for these. Disappointed in Casper Kelly’s segment tho ngl Main Story - Better than almost all of the other “main” stories in the series lol but that’s not saying much at all Part 1 - Equally scary and silly as shit Part 2 - Spooky but too unoriginal (edit: apt for this director) Part 3 - Wildly cheesy dialogue and disgusting practical effects! Beyond camp to where it becomes annoying and runs too long. Anddd I just deduced which one was directed by Casper Kelly. Part 4 - Ayeee Miles from Funny Pages! (And directed by Alex Ross Perry!!) Uniquely disturbing and enjoyed the rare V/H/S “realism” Part 5 - A campy fun one with cool effects to end it! A visual haunted house. Simple but solid
- Jobione230 października 2025Awesome movie second best vhs next to the second film. Worth a watch around Halloween
- Javier Lobo9 października 2025That was a (gory) blast!
- MrEagleEye7 stycznia 2026Far better than the last one. The first two VHS movies are still the best IMO. I didn't like how they ended the Phantasma Cola bit.
- Kevin Welkner23 października 2025Leave it to VHS to come up with the most f'ed up stuff you would never think of. This is one of those movies that you feel embarrassed watching because you're witnessing some crazy, gorey s***. Can't say I wasn't freaked out though so job well done
- jackmeat8 października 2025My quick rating - 6.6/10. The latest addition to the long-running found-footage horror franchise, V/H/S/Halloween, offers a fresh, blood-drenched spin on the anthology format with a collection of Halloween-themed short films that range from creepy and creative to gleefully grotesque. While not every story hits a home run, the film maintains an energetic flow and delivers more treats than tricks this spooky season. The wraparound story, “Diet Phantasma,” cleverly sets the tone — a mock 1980s-style internal video documenting a taste test for a mysterious new soda. It nails the retro look with grainy footage and VHS fuzz, complete with overenthusiastic technicians and awkward interviews. It’s amusing and eerie in equal measure, but it also starts to wear thin as it keeps reappearing between the other tales. Still, credit where it’s due — the practical effects are excellent, and David Haydn’s turn as the head technician adds a welcome dose of dark humor. (5) Next up, “Coochie Coochie Coo” follows two stoner teens determined to go trick-or-treating one last time before they officially outgrow it. Unfortunately, they pick the wrong house. What begins as a hazy night of laughs quickly spirals into a nightmare. The segment is nasty fun — from the unsettling creature makeup to some truly disgusting surprises — and it perfectly captures that reckless teenage Halloween vibe. (7) “Ut Supra Sic Infra” shifts gears into a subtitled, gothic mystery that stands out for its atmosphere and storytelling. The narrative alternates between interrogation footage and flashbacks of a doomed group of young adults sneaking into an old estate, where something unspeakable occurred. The editing is sharp, the performances convincing, and the horror steadily ramps up. It’s one of the most well-executed stories in the bunch, with solid scares and a haunting payoff. (7) The fourth tale, “Fun Size,” returns to suburban horror with another group of candy-hunting teens. The “one per person” candy bowl outside a strange house seems harmless until it’s not. This one earns points for originality, nasty humor, and some fantastic creature effects. It’s gruesome, funny, and wildly entertaining, easily the most “complete” short of the lineup and one that could work as a standalone feature. (8) Then comes “Kidprint,” which begins as an innocent local service filming kids for safety identification — until it turns into a nightmare scenario for parents everywhere. Stephen Gurewitz gives a perfectly unsettling performance as the overly nice store owner with far darker intentions. The violence is shocking, the imagery brutal, and while the story feels thin, it makes up for it with sheer intensity and practical gore effects that would make Tom Savini grin. (6) Finally, “Home Haunt” closes the show with a nostalgic and sinister finale. A father’s obsession with building the family’s annual haunted house pushes his eldest son to the brink. When an eerie Halloween record becomes the soundtrack to their creation, the line between decoration and demonic possession blurs. It’s a fitting capstone — gory, chaotic, and surprisingly satisfying. (7) As a whole, V/H/S/Halloween keeps the franchise’s energy alive. The framing segments wear out their welcome, but the shorts themselves pack creativity, dark humor, and a ton of practical bloodletting. There aren’t any real duds here, just varying shades of gruesome fun and a redundant can of soda.
- Andy Griffin30 listopada 2025This was a little better than VHS viral but not much that are couples good stories I thought that I would much rather watch this again than viral but still not very good for BHS problem is bloody disgusting har nothing to do with this movie like they had with the others and I think that's the problem it felt cheap and amateur-ish but not in a good way.
- stuhannaford23 listopada 2025Probably time to take the tape out. With the exclusion of As Above, As Below, it is a horrible mess. It’s as if the producers just gave up and handed the reigns to an am-dram, improv group and said react to the practical effects team. None of it is cohesive anymore, and I got the impression that the only interaction most had had with the horror genre, was watching trailers to 90’s slashers and gathering that all that happens in these movies is blood squirting and constant, constant, inane squealing and screaming… nothing else. It’s repetitive to the nth degree, silly and not in a funny way. Where the first few V/H/S instalments had some real fear and terror, this is just bad comedy, with a tonne of fake blood. Only avoids a 1 due to AAAB chapter.
- FranBiz5 października 2025This is a fun horror anthology. Specifically, a fun Halloween Horror anthology. Watch it with some friends during spooky season
