Two guys are serious gear head drag racers while the third is an insecure pathological liar. The girl just floats through life hardly touching the ground, she makes no connections or commitments. When the mood strikes her, she literally drops everything she owns and walks away with a complete stranger. For some reason this movie just sticks with you. It's about freedom and the open road, yet they still are corralled by earthly needs and restraints. Money for food and gas. Cops issue a ticket to one of them. Will they get to their destination, do they care, are they even trying? It's all strangely compelling. Worth a watch if you like dramas about cars and 1970s America.
