Twins Ratings & Reviews
- Lasse ViinikainenJuly 31, 2025What lengths we go to for the cast.
- Jacob O’NealJuly 7, 2025It is absolutely undeniable that Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito have great chemistry together. Between that and Ivan Reitman’s skillful direction, this marked a successful transition into Schwarzenegger playing comedic roles later on like Kindergarten Cop and Junior (both for Reitman). The plot of the movie is pure science fiction. A perfect human is created in a lab by combining the DNA of six men for their attributes in intellect and physique, then the egg of a young Heather Graham is fertilized and out pops Julius, the perfect human. But then out came a tiny lifeform filled with all the waste DNA, the worst parts, in the form DeVito’s Vincent. When Julius discovers he has a twin he leaves the island he was raised on for the mainland to find his brother. Once reunited they learn about love, kindness and family from each other. The movie should not work. Its concept is not really the greatest idea, but it works for a dumb 80’s comedy. The chemistry between not only our two main stars, but the rest of the cast, is awesome. Kelly Preston and Chloe Webb as the girlfriends were funny and charming. David Caruso, in a pre-NYPD Blue role, Marshall Bell and more fill out the cast and everyone seems to be having fun. Some of the humor falls flat all these decades later, but it makes up for it in charm and heart, something often missing from modern comedies. This is also far better than Junior, in my opinion.

- Kraine OpasenJune 20, 2025“One brain, one brawn — zero chance of staying serious.” I’ve seen Twins more times than I can count. Maybe a hundred. Maybe more. And you know what? It never gets old. Arnold Schwarzenegger as the book-smart, wide-eyed gentle giant, and Danny DeVito as the streetwise, fast-talking chaos gremlin — it’s the oddest of odd couples, and it works like comedy magic. Every scene is a contrast of muscles and mischief, brains and BS, and it all unfolds with perfect '80s charm. It’s goofy. It’s heartfelt. It’s got illegally good chemistry, and more one-liners than some modern trilogies combined. And every time that sweet, clueless Arnold smiles, you just can’t help but grin. Some movies fade with time. This one? Lifts your mood like a warm hug and a punchline — no matter how many times you’ve watched it.
