Really enjoyed this movie throughout. Deep characters and a gripping plot. While, for me, there were some comedic moments, I found the film to be quite dark. Acting was superb. Not the sort of movie I'm typically drawn to so if it won me over; well worth a watch for anyone.

Great movie. Original, emotional and some really dark but hilarious moments... The trailer seems to be selling something else though. Weird marketing

Twinless is a cleverly structured, emotionally sharp character study featuring a phenomenal dual performance from Dylan O'Brien, who plays both Roman and his late twin brother, Rocky. Roman, the surviving twin, is a sweet, dim-witted guy who meets Dennis (James Sweeney) at a grief support group for people who've lost their twins. He thinks limes are just unripe lemons and doesn't know if any Moscow outside Idaho—but his warmth and openness are deeply endearing. After the 20-minute Long Cold Open, the film shifts perspective, and we meet Rocky—confident, flirtatious, and everything Roman isn't. O'Brien plays both roles with such distinction that it's easy to forget you're watching the same actor. There's a hotel room scene where Roman talks to Dennis as if he were his deceased brother Rocky—"I don't know how to fucking be here without you"—it's devastating. It's an incredible showcase for O'Brien. The film is visually inventive, with one beautifully executed party sequence using a split screen to follow Roman and Dennis through the same space before rejoining via a mirror shot. It's hard to describe, but you'll know it when you see it. Great stuff. I loved this film. It's funny, heartbreaking, and full of emotional landmines. O'Brien is fantastic, and the whole thing lands in a way that surprised me.

As some one with a twin this does hit hard I can’t lie, while we aren’t identical this still fucks with the heart

A Quietly Affecting Study of Connection and Absence "Twinless" is a restrained, intimate film that focuses less on plot mechanics and more on emotional undercurrents. It's a character-driven story that explores themes of identity, loss, and human connection with a gentle, almost contemplative approach. The film takes its time, allowing relationships and emotions to develop naturally. Rather than pushing for dramatic highs, it finds its strength in subtle moments and small gestures, which give the story a grounded and sincere feel. This quiet approach won't work for everyone, but it suits the material and reinforces its reflective tone. The performances are solid and believable, carrying much of the film's emotional weight. The actors bring nuance and sensitivity to their roles, making the characters feel real even when the narrative remains minimal. Their interactions are where the film truly comes alive. Visually and stylistically, "Twinless" is simple but effective. The direction stays out of the way, supporting the story without drawing attention to itself, while the overall atmosphere remains consistent and cohesive. "Twinless" doesn't aim to be bold or groundbreaking. Instead, it succeeds by being sincere, thoughtful, and emotionally grounded - a modest but engaging film that resonates through its honesty rather than its ambition.

Well done in many ways.. just not an idea with enough legs. Should have been a short film

A movie that feels “light” (in a good way) but deep at the same time, it has great characters with very complex feelings, but it’s not always exposed and exaggerated like in many dramas. I think this movie got that perfect equilibrium. I really liked it

Twinless is a very unique movie, a premise unlike anything I can really recall. Despite that, it has a sense of familiarity as it still plays with certain tropes. I do wish it was maybe a bit better with the structure of the movie because it plays its hand a bit early in my opinion, and had it waited a bit longer into the movie to do certain things, it might have had a much harder impact. That said, both Dylan O'Brien and James Sweeney are very earnest in their roles, and their unlikely friendship is genuinely compelling. The shift from humor to more emotional moments is effortless. I do wish we got more from one of the characters by the ending. I don't think the movie fully convinced me to root for them, but I still found them fascinating. Overall, this was quite a surprising movie for me, one that felt distinctive and familiar both at the same time and threaded the needle in terms of tone even if it could have landed some moments better.

The writing and acting was so good. The characters were really well conceived and developed. The plot was creative and not very derivative (except hasn't every movie been made? Elements of this movie have been done before but not like this.) I saw hardly any of plot turns coming.

Dennis Stays West (there’s more apt comparisons but I love Ingrid) “I thought Gen Z were supposed to be nice!” Lovely film! Aisling Franciosi is a delight! Thought the film was called Twinsies until about an hour before showtime. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ MASSIVE SPOILER BELOW ‼️‼️⬇️⬇️⬇️ My mother was very upset that there was no bite missing from the sandwich in the last shot. -.5 stars for continuity (jk)

Twinless was an engrossing movie that is difficult to review without spoiler. The acting is well done as is the writing and direction. My issue with the movie is that it had a great premise and just that storyline could have made for a worthwhile film. However, the twist is basically Glen Close in Fatal Attraction and the emotional depth and struggles of the character get derailed in some strange melodrama where the sex scenes are at first important and then towards the end as if they were added to shock like White Lotus. I believe there is real talent here but newer filmmakers need to learn their craft versus giving into their tangents as in this case the story and film suffered for it. After the twist, it was extremely difficult to care about the main character or have anything but revulsion for them.

Twinless is a very difficult movie to describe without giving too much away. It's equal parts humorous, emotional, and weirdly dark within a very specific, unlikely scenario that somehow works incredibly well. Dylan O’Brien is flexing every acting muscle he has here and the film would be worth it for that alone, but fortunately it has even more to offer.

I've been hearing good things about this, and I finally felt like checking it out. It was great! Awesome story telling. And great acting. Dylan O'Brian was incredible. Some of his monologues and scenes were great. He literally felt like a real person. Great film. Still sitting on it and that's my favorite.
