Transformers One Ratings & Reviews
- VarunNovember 1, 2024How are people not talking enough about this movie? It’s freaking EPIC. The animation completely rules, so many cool scenes and the camera angles during the action scenes are dynamic and awesome. The characters are really well written, with Orion and D-16’s friendship being the best central focus of the film. The soundtrack is killing it. The pacing is perfect. The humour is fun. The designs and transformations of some of the characters were pretty cool. I really liked the depictions of both Iacon and the outer world. I think it also has a nice critique on how myths can shape people’s lives. I’ve only seen all the live action movies, haven’t watched the animated show so I’ve never been steeped in the lore of this franchise and I’m not particularly a big fan or anything, but this movie was exciting af and I badly want a sequel. I wish I had watched this in theatres in 3D. The story is a bit formulaic and I saw the plot twist coming from the very start although I think it’s meant to be obvious, but there’s real stakes in this film and the gravity of many situations especially early on in the story hit hard. It’s not perfect but I’m giving a 10 based on how much earnestness, energy, enjoyment and epicness this movie is packed with.
- ScottDecember 14, 2024It’s fun and well-made. I also love the idea that even though at this point in the story the transformers have never been to earth, they still transform into cars and jets like they’re the crabs of robotic life. Eventually all robots converge and transform into a corolla.
- Davey’s Wonderful World4d agoThis is such a fantastic film. The story is engaging, The music is stellar, The jokes are really funny, the voice acting mainly by Chris Hemsworth and Brian Henry are wonderful and this film is just so much fun and it’s really sad that this movie flopped at the box office cause I would’ve loved to see the other sequels that were supposed to get made, but that might never happen just a taste of what could’ve been 😢
- neuroparadox5d agoTRANSFORMERS N1NE NOTES: That race sequence felt like a Bourne fight scene. It's animated, geezus, chill out with the shakeycam and micro-edits. "Paging Dr. Ratchet...."Should have been Nurse Ratchet ffs. Lol nice jab at Go-Bots 😂 That Spider/Attack Drone Transformer is pretty sick until you learn its name (Airachnid 🙄🤮) Still could have used a 20-year-old Megan Fox 😻 but the lack of Shia TheBeef makes up for that 😂🤣 Kinda fun, if not completely predictable...right down to the stinger.
- anishthakare6d agoGreat movie. It’s so nice to see a original origin story in a franchise that’s so cooked and milked dry with terrible movies. The voice acting and visuals were spot on. More importantly, seeing the characters develop throughout the story was heavenly. I am of course talking about Optimus prime and megatron. Great movie loved it a lot.
- VSNet.July 12, 2025It's pretty good it just had bad marketing and wish it wasn't trying to aim for children designs
- Lucas MagretaJuly 3, 2025this is awesome and amazing. this was a great way to make a prequal to transforomers and the franchise. the cast was awsome. the story was just awsome with the transformers trying to get cogs and Megatron obdvisly leading the dicepticons
- ElecMoHwkMay 2, 2025Better than all of the Michael Bay movies easily. Felt like it was back to the truth of the material, and a fitting update to the originals
- thereelvoiceApril 30, 2025Transformers One is a surprisingly well crafted story that dives into the origins of a friendship gone awry. A young Orion Pax (Optimus Prime) and D-16 (Megatron) are miners on their home world. Through ambition and a bit of luck the two discover secrets that will change the fate of Cybertron forever. Their ideas of what this means for the fate of their kind will also change the meaning of the relationship. This is a story of friends bonded like brothers before they became bitter rivals. Transformers One is a compelling film that will more than likely leave you feeling a bit nostalgic.
- Spencer MBJuly 1, 2025I would give this 5 stars but casting Keegan MK is maybe the worst choice they could have made, just insufferable. Nearly every line he speaks is cringe garbage. You could honestly cut out 90% of his scenes and the best parts of "One" would be unaffected. Everything else is fantastic; the depth of Optimus & Megatron's history is heartbreaking but, while solid here, I feel could've been made a little more tragic. Praying for a sequel to give us the Shakespearean tragedy of those two that we (and Optimus/Megatron) deserve.
- DdoughnutMay 20, 2025Why is he named Orion Pax though?
- Kevin WardJuly 1, 2025Where is A-A-tron at right now? You better be sick, dead, or mute, A-A-tron! This was so much fun. Packed theater full of kids, clapped and cheered at the finale, and deservedly so. Excellent voice cast, fantastic looking visuals….it’s really everything a Transformers movie should be.
- RyezooFebruary 4, 2025This film looks so ugly! The 3D was solid though. Found it to be entertaining and had a few laughs here and there. Story was predictable and more of the same. Worth a watch, maybe at home though instead of theaters. Slight spoiler….. I thought the lion king scar moment replica was pretty hilarious
- jackmeatDecember 10, 2024My quick rating - 7.4/10. This animated flick takes us fans back to Cybertron with the untold origin story of Optimus Prime and Megatron, showcasing their once-strong brotherly bond before they became sworn enemies. The movie delivers a heartfelt, well-crafted narrative that enriches the lore of the Transformers universe while providing action and humor that will captivate both longtime fans and newcomers. The animation is nothing short of phenomenal. If you're a fan of the sleek, modern style that blends vivid details with dynamic movement, this film is a visual treat. The action sequences are meticulously choreographed, creating a sense of scale and intensity that immerses you in the battles that shaped Cybertron's fate. The story is the real star, however. Transformers One manages to humanize its robotic protagonists, giving us a deeply emotional look at the tragic unraveling of Optimus Prime and Megatron's friendship. This layered storytelling not only enhances their characters but also elevates the stakes for their eventual conflict. It's a refreshing addition to the saga that feels both necessary and compelling. Keegan-Michael Key’s performance as B-127 (the bot who eventually becomes Bumblebee) adds a much-needed dose of humor, breaking up the tension with perfectly timed quips. His playful energy fits seamlessly into the story, giving fans a glimpse of Bumblebee's personality in his earlier days. The rest of the cast is equally as strong, featuring Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, and the impeccable Steve Buscemi to name a few. With strong writing, dazzling visuals, and a fresh take on beloved characters, this movie exceeded my expectations. It’s not just a fanboy's dream but a genuinely well-made animated feature that stands on its own merits. For anyone who loves the Transformers franchise, or just enjoys great animation with an emotional core, this film is a must-watch. Plenty of heart, humor, and action make this film a worthy addition to Cybertron's cinematic saga.
- eckoryanJuly 1, 2025This is SOOOO not canon, but…absolutely worth a watch. I was skeptical about the animation at first, but the dialog, and just general slapstick kept me glued!
