Where to Watch Trading Places
- BeardynSeptember 27, 2025I'm taking careful consideration into the fact that this movie contains blackface, as well as some hard N-word usage. It was part of the times, and although current media tends to steer away from using either elements of hate, I want to make sure I'm reviewing this movie purely on the story and context. That being said, I love this movie. It's another one of Eddie Murphy's "Greatest Hits," in my opinion, and although it butts heads with the test of time, I still find it endearing in many ways. It fights back against some of the racist elements it portrays through it's story, and it gives a meaningful ending that celebrates the "good guys."
- Ray HopkinDecember 26, 2025An absolute classic, with Ackroyd, Murphy and Curtis on top form. I'm happy the gorilla found love ever after. And wouldn't it be nice to see the 1%, the tech bros, etc today get similar cumuppance? I'd be down, especially if Trump, or Vance, or Teal, or RFK, or Musk, get locked in a cage with a gorilla who would take advantage of them sexually for the rest of their lives? That would be nice. Merry Xmas...
