I was 6 when Toy Story was released and I was obsessed with it into my teens. I didn’t know at the time I was witnessing the birth of a new era of animation. Watching the progression from Toy Story 1-4 is a fascinating evolution in 3D animation. I didn’t know Bo-Peep was made from porcelain until the 4th movie. On a recent rewatch I was still surprised at how well the animation has held up it certainly doesn’t look or feel “1995” In retrospect, the birth of this new era of animation put the final nail in the coffin of hand drawn cartoons and would put a stranglehold on animation for at least a decade moving forwards. It wouldn’t be until the Spider-Verse that we would see something new and refreshing. A movie so revolutionary that it changed its own category moving forwards forever

Very cute movie and a classic. Today it feels a slight bit childish compared to other Pixar films that came after it, but it's very charming never the less. Animation is great, especially for the time, and the support cast is alright.

Allen and Hanks make this one of the great animated classics. Highly quotable and unforgettable. Fun supporting voices.

All CGI animated films are derived from this. A kids classic that is timeless.

My a time childhood favorite that I still watch at the age of 40!!! Probably the best animation ever made (IMHO).

the early cgi is actually not that noticeable since it deals with mostly toys. amazing writing

I don’t give too many films five stars these days, but I can’t think of a single flaw with Toy Story (1995). It’s a childhood classic that holds up exceptionally well.
