Love seeing every member of The State / Wet Hot that’s in this Lot of obvious inspiration from previous parody films but I specifically see a lot of the Wayans! Maybe it’s just bc Amy Poehler looks like Anna Faris Still think some of the gags were recycled. And I don’t mean the ones that they would build upon but the ones that they didn’t. An obvious one is the shush from Team America: World Police Lots of silly older comedy-style bits that run on long enough to annoy you and make you crack! Kenan running around while Jack McBrayer holds the basketball and talks killed me. Miss when he did fun stuff Also the Norah Jones scene is so incredible Spot on parody but just not funny enough imo!

- Christopher SegersonApril 17, 2025A true to form David Wain comedy. If you like Wet Hot American Summer and/or Role Models, this is definitely worth a watch. Parodies nearly every romcom trope. The repetitive jokes are a little over done. Amazing cast. There are a ton of hilarious 'blink and you'll miss it' jokes that occur in the background, so I recommend setting down the devices for the very short 83min run time.
