The Whale Ratings & Reviews
- KentFebruary 16, 2025I’m a Christian and Conservative; although I don’t condone the lifestyle of the main character, I can’t deny the emotional rollercoaster it takes the viewer on. This is a deeply moving and powerful film that leaves a lasting impression on its audience. The story is well crafted, exploring themes of redemption, forgiveness, and the human condition with sensitivity and depth. The performances are outstanding, particularly the lead actor, who delivers a nuanced and heartfelt portrayal that resonates long after the credits roll. This is the performance long waited for from Brendan Fraser on the same high level as “With Honors” (1994). Sadie Sink is phenomenal as Ellie. The film captures the raw emotion and intimate moments of the characters' journeys. The ending was grand and heart-wrenching climax of sad elation. Overall, "The Whale" is a must-see film that offers a profound and unforgettable cinematic experience. I highly recommend this film.
- Leon4d agoIt’s definitely a well-made movie, and I can understand why it received the awards it did. But in my experience, it was just too disturbing and not something I enjoyed watching. I know it’s not meant to be enjoyable, but honestly, I wish I hadn’t seen it. Still, I’m not denying the quality or impact it clearly had.
