The Uninvited Ratings & Reviews

Absolutely no one in this film is likeable, relatable or watchable. The story goes nowhere. You will get more satisfaction arranging shopping trolleys in the car park on the weekend
Kermode and Mayo's Take (YouTube)
Mark Kermode
A decent, if somewhat slight, Hollywood drama.
Awards Radar
Joey Magidson
The Uninvited is a Hollywood dramedy with something to say about age.
In Review Online
Robert Stinner
The Uninvited holds none of the tension or intrigue of a great play, instead acting as an example of why many dismiss films that formally mimic theatre.
Loud and Clear Reviews
Joe Botten
What begins as a promising night out turns into a lukewarm evening where no one really connects, including the film with its audience.

Jackie K. Cooper
If it stars Walton Goggins it has to be good.

Nadine Whitney
The Uninvited is an earnest, sometimes scathing, but predominantly heartfelt examination of how little things change for women over the ages when it comes to having to choose career, motherhood, or being a support system for the insecurities of men.
Common Sense Media
Monique Jones
This drama can feel a little out of touch-how many of us regularly attend Hollywood garden parties?-but the heart of the film is an emotional message about the thanklessness of womanhood.
Mashable
Shannon Connellan
Reaser authentically builds a character mourning her past self while finding strength in maturity, creating a nuanced, grounded portrait of a complex woman the men in this film constantly put on a pedestal as a muse.
The Daily Beast
Nick Schager
Gracefully balancing its lighter and darker concerns, it's a witty ride whose poignancy-like adulthood itself-sneaks up on you.
Spectrum Culture
David Harris
The Uninvited is a thoughtful, literate film, one that could have been much better with deeper characterization and a more focused script.
Next Best Picture
Dan Bayer
Conners stitches together a fascinating tapestry of modern-day Angelenos that jumps around in tone from the comedic to the tragic, from the ironic to the honest.
RogerEbert.com
Monica Castillo
Conners' first narrative feature is a rocky start but not without some promising notes.
Movies and Shakers
Linda and Al Lerner
Writer/Director Nadia Conners writes with a sharp, biting wit that is funny, piercing, poignant and ultimately soulful.
New York Times
Glenn Kenny
...a very soft and indefinite satire.
Movies Thru the Spectrum

This party crash is more than a mere mishap. It's a total wreck.
NYC Movie Guru
Avi Offer
A heartfelt, profound and refreshingly unpredictable film with shades of Buñuel.
Variety
Stephen Saito
Originally developed as a play, "The Uninvited" doesn't feel like one visually, since DP Robert Leitzell elegantly uses a wide frame to suggest a sense of confinement with color rather than space.
Cinemalogue
Todd Jorgenson
Its generic title might suggest a fright flick, but this ensemble comedy instead probes the horrors of aging and misogyny in Hollywood with biting humor and intriguing character dynamics.
Austin Chronicle
Marjorie Baumgarten
Conner's dialog and images are succinct and well-crafted, and enough good things cannot be said of this spectacular cast who bring their characters to life with precision and intriguing fascination.
