The Sorcerer's Apprentice Ratings & Reviews
- DcrBaneFebruary 15, 2025Always one of my favorites! Great movie for the whole family
- CravanThePugilistJanuary 2, 2026Way funnier than I'd expected from this kind of movie. If anything, I look at it more as a comedy with a fantasy twist than the other way around.
- mickerdooNovember 29, 2025Story felt familiar and Cage’s costuming was cringy. But the effects were fine. Baruchel always punches up. Can’t unsee Doc Oc.
- Roger CollingwoodOctober 4, 2025This should be turned into a series! At least part 2. I want more! Great!
- RichardOctober 21, 2025First streamed, then rescued from the bargain Blu-ray bin and no regrets. This one got a raw deal from critics, but honestly? It’s a charming, effects heavy romp that knows exactly what it is: a Disney fied Cage vehicle with lightning bolts, ancient rings and a mop scene that tips its hat to Fantasia without drowning in nostalgia. Nicolas Cage is in full “eccentric mentor with great hair” mode and Jay Baruchel plays the reluctant apprentice with enough awkward charm to sell the whole “MIT kid learns magic” premise. Alfred Molina chews scenery like it’s a buffet and the whole thing moves fast enough that you don’t have time to question the physics of plasma bolts in Manhattan. Watched it first on streaming, but it stuck with me, not because it’s flawless, but because it’s fun. The kind of fun that makes you want to own it. So I did. No, it’s not Harry Potter. It’s not trying to be. It’s a popcorn flick with heart, Cage and a dragon ring. And sometimes, that’s exactly what you need.
- StreetterAugust 17, 2025A better version of Harry Potter
- SakyoshaAugust 25, 2025Another movie that was pure fun. Disney desperately wanted to recreate the magic of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise - but never accepted a moderate success. This should have kicked off at least a sequel or two - but Disney was impatient and moved on to buying franchises instead of developing them - and we're the worse for it in all ways.
