It’s got that low-budget feel where everything from the acting to the pacing feels a bit off, and a lot of scenes just don’t have much tension or impact. It’s honestly hard to see how it ended up with cult status, since most of it plays out more clunky than scary, and the dialogue doesn’t help either. A few minutes in, it’s clear why it leans so heavily into exploitation and nudity — the movie itself is pretty weak, so it feels like it’s trying to distract from that. Still, there’s one thing that weirdly keeps it watchable: the killer running around with that giant ass drill is kind of hilarious every time he shows up. It’s so over-the-top and dumb that it almost works better as comedy than horror. Outside of that, though, the characters aren’t very interesting and the story doesn’t give you much to latch onto. A rough slasher overall, but with a few moments of accidental entertainment.
