Where to Watch The Seventh Continent
- cultfilmlikerMay 21, 2025Dude, Haneke is scared to death of children and raising children lmao same tho Love the way he presents the narrative. The abrupt editing is basically a staple with Haneke but you can see obviously a ton of similarities between this and 71 Fragments of a Chronology of Chance. Also, I always love the natural cinematography in all of his films. This film specifically reminds me of the found-footage style from Benny’s Video and Caché but also Jeanne Dielman, 23 Commerce Quay, 1080 Brussels (kinda similar in the director’s vein / thematically too!) Watching living things actually struggle and possibly die is always rough What a way to end it! Love when he does titles / credits this way. Reminds me of how incredible the packaging for Caché could have been lol Okay so is the title an actual euphemism or not bc that’s what I genuinely thought going into this film and unknowingly…you know, called it
