The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause Ratings & Reviews
- Manuel FrangisApril 29, 2025I just watched The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause, and I give it 4.5 out of 5 stars. This one is a little different from the first two, but it still brings all the Christmas magic and heart that made this series so good in the first place. It is funny, it is cozy, and it wraps up the story in a way that feels satisfying while also giving us something a little new. It might not hit quite as perfectly as the first two, but it is still a really great time and a must-watch if you love the series. Tim Allen once again is awesome as Scott Calvin. At this point, he feels like he was born to play Santa. He has completely made the role his own, and you can tell he is still having a blast with it. This time around, though, Scott has more problems than ever. He is trying to balance running Christmas, dealing with family visiting the North Pole, and stopping a new threat — Jack Frost. It is chaos in the best possible way. Martin Short plays Jack Frost, and he is fantastic. He brings so much energy to the movie. Jack Frost is sneaky, selfish, and just the right amount of over-the-top. He is the perfect kind of villain for a Christmas movie like this — more funny than scary, but still a real problem for Santa. Every scene with Jack Frost is packed with jokes, schemes, and ridiculous moments that keep the movie moving at a fast, fun pace. The North Pole looks better than ever too. You can tell they really went all out with the sets this time. The workshop, the town square, the holiday decorations — everything looks amazing and full of Christmas magic. It is the kind of setting you want to step into yourself. The elves are great, the reindeer are still hilarious, and there is a lot of cool little details everywhere you look. The story introduces the Escape Clause, a magic trick that could allow Scott to undo everything and never become Santa. It brings a cool "what if" element to the movie that makes you think about how one choice can change everything. Even though it is a silly Christmas movie, it still has a good message underneath — about being grateful for what you have and not running away from the hard parts of life. The only reason I did not give it a full 5 stars is because a few parts feel a little more rushed compared to the first two movies. Some of the emotional beats could have been a little deeper, and a few scenes feel like they are just moving the plot forward without slowing down for the quieter moments. But honestly, those are small problems in a movie that still delivers where it matters. I give The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause 4.5 out of 5 stars because it is a fun, festive, and funny way to wrap up the story. It brings back the magic, gives us a great new villain, and still leaves you feeling that classic Christmas joy that the first two movies captured so perfectly. Overall The Santa Clause 3 is a fast, funny, and magical Christmas movie that is a worthy part of the trilogy. If you loved the first two, you will definitely want to watch this one too. It is packed with holiday spirit, laughs, and a whole lot of heart.
