Adorable child protagonist, Lamia (Banin Ahmad, Nayef), draws the short straw and is tasked with the immense “privilege” of baking the cake for the mandatory school celebration of Saddam Hussein’s birthday—with potentially dire consequences if she is unable to fulfill this task. It’s essentially Lamia’s odyssey to somehow procure the eggs, sugar, etc needed while facing a number obstacles along the way. Stressful watch, but fell in love Lamia’s tenacity. Memorable ending.
