The mutants’ rejection of science is a surprising twist, though it strains credibility when set against Neville’s arsenal, which should have made him nearly unstoppable. The film’s atmosphere captures the era’s outrageous sci-fi sensibilities, with bold visuals and a mix of action and philosophical undertones. While not entirely successful, The Omega Man remains an interesting, if flawed, exploration of isolation, survival, and humanity’s uneasy relationship with progress.
