The Moment Ratings & Reviews
- Haydn Conniff3 de marzo de 2026I was genuinely impressed by Charli as a performer here. The acting lands, the writing lands, and Aidan Zamiri's music video instincts are all over it, sometimes to its benefit and sometimes to its detriment, but never in a way that feels boring. I just really enjoyed the whole thing. I do need that opening credits sequence released as a standalone music video immediately though, lol. There is a real sense of intention behind her work. That carries over here. The Moment is not only about that relationship to art and ambition, it feels like it comes from someone who loves cinema deeply and wants to engage with it on its own terms rather than just dabbling. I have also always been drawn to the contradiction at the centre of Charli's image. The tension between effortlessness and relentless work. The idea of cool versus commitment. That paradox is basically the backbone of this film. The scene near the end where she leaves a voicemail for Celeste, laying out everything she has been doing and then choosing to do the concert anyway, really stayed with me. And that line, "I know it's not chic to be the last person at a party, but I think | just don't like to go home." That completely flattened me.
- johnrodan22 de febrero de 2026What if our 365 party girl caved to the pressure?
- James Saenz12 de abril de 2026“communist cum dumpster.” i love when a film is so funny and also so anxiety-inducing at the same time. i was uncomfortable for nearly the entire runtime— my best friend and i both ended up in the fetal position at certain points. alexander skarsgård is too funny to be human and he honestly is my favorite part of the film. for all of its humor and cringe, there’s also a resonant critique of corporate oversight and how the greed of the many can stifle the creative liberty and identity of the individual; it’s both a distressingly amusing mockumentary and an embittered indictment of the commodification of art. how much of your integrity are you willing to relinquish in order to maintain hold of your art’s recognition, to capitalize on the moment? is it already too late, your art bastardized into something you no longer recognize? what happens when the moment’s gone? how do you retain your identity, and how do you move forward? knowing something must come to an end is terrifying, but holding on for far too long can be just as crippling. this also has the funniest and probably best-utilized needle drop of all time in film and it’s fucking “bittersweet symphony” of all things.
- nabilcherfi12911 de abril de 2026AMAZING. Luv Charli XCX so much
- Burnharm8 de marzo de 2026I thought The Moment was genuinely disappointing. The acting feels flat, the story never really goes anywhere, and the whole film comes across as unfocused and oddly empty. It left me wondering why it was made in the first place, because it doesn’t offer much. I want my time and money back.
- Phillip Campbell10 de marzo de 2026I like the vision, the idea, the themes; the execution was a little broken for me but as a first feature film it's not terrible! Good composition, good use of close ups for a chaotic claustrophobia -- overall good, hard to fully recommend outside of fans, not mad I watched.
- Cappy June7 de marzo de 2026What the hell was even that?
- michael.r107 de marzo de 2026Promising premise but left more questions.
- amfxc3 de marzo de 2026If you're plugged into popular culture in any way you are going to LOVE this. Funny, dramatic and so brat.
- cultfilmliker14 de febrero de 2026🎶 It’s a bittersweet needledrop. That’s cringeee. 🎶 I want to give this 5 stars so bad lol I’ll meet in the middle of that and what I should actually give it Kate Berlant + Jamie Demetriou = 💕💕💕 Huge Charli fan. Loved the opening and closing so fucking much. Speaking of needledrops, having multiple appearances in this was wild but Fantano’s second one made me giggle Genuinely hilarious. Skarsgård is unhinged. Possibly too much. Also did he break once!?! Watched at AMC Northrock (paid for a ticket but just walked in accidentally. Would recommend) Currently Ranked #1/14 in 2026 Ranked
