Poté, co se uznávaný vysokoškolský profesor historie John Oldman rozhodne k nečekané rezignaci na svůj post, schyluje se k rozlučkovému večírku na odlehlé chatě na samotě. Právě na této party chce také profesor svým nejbližším přátelům vysvětlit příčiny zkratkovitého počínání. Jak se ale záhy ukáže, odůvodnění není zdaleka tak prozaické, a už vůbec ne snadno stravitelné. Oldmanova slova všechny zaskočí. Profesor totiž tvrdí, že hlavním důvodem jeho odchodu je nesmrtelnost. Prý je na světě již čtrnáct tisíc let a každých deset roků musí měnit své působiště, aby jej nevypátrali nesprávní lidé. Nikdo mu pochopitelně nevěří, a tak brzy začne intelektuální, emocemi nabitá historiografická přestřelka vedená ve snaze prokázat profesorovu lež. Jenže trhliny nepřicházejí. A všechny dosavadní jistoty se začínají pomalu hroutit.

- Daniel Gustavsson12. října 2024Intriguing movie for sure. It's just some people in a house for the whole duration but it works very well. The concept of this is very fascinating, however it lacks a little bit in the technical department. The acting can be rough. It kind of leaves you wondering and thinking about possibilities at the end. The funny thing is that there exist a sequel to this, which has the funniest explanation to all this and completely destroys this movie. If you treasure this movie then I recommend you skip the sequel.

- raviagarwal65222. srpna 2025Absolutely fantastic man what a storytelling for a sci-fi movie I mean let's be real there was nothing sci-fi about it was like reading a book an audio book i could literally imagine some of the stuff he said and I think that's what the movie wanted for us. It took us through highs and lows and then ended on a high. Amazing 10/10 underrated gem in my opinion.

Lemme watch it at 1 a.m. little did I know, I'm about to have a midlife crisis, and fun thing about that? I'm fucking 14— honestly should've just stuck to cartoons atp. now I'm spiralling because I think that sandy is also an immortal, because of welp everything she does in the movie, is John really lying or is he just trying to protect everyone's feelings, why tf did sandy kiss dan. and help me god I need some of that alcohol too. 5/5, destroyed me emotionally, mentally and would've physically too if our boi jerome was still alive because oh I'm so fucking convinced he is the man he portrays john to be. I mean come on man. Someone get me chocolate milk and cookies.
- iye7624. února 2026Low budget, with a cast of just 11, three of whom are walk-ons, one of the others is just padding, and some of the acting is clunky. But all the same a good watch, and a very, very clever script.
- legit_movies20. února 2026This is one of my favourite movies. Full stop. It's so simple. Man rolls up on farewell party, spills his guts and blows minds. But the sting in the tail... that haunts me, maybe it will haunt you? This is a campfire movie, grab some friends, grab some beers and sit for 90m to play what-if... if you like people being smart at each other, here you go. If you like thinking "oh shit, really?" here you go. This one leaves me grinning and hopeful about the human condition.
