The water spirit has kidnapped the skillful Marie and is holding her captive in his realm. Her young son Vanya sets off in search of his mother. He overcomes all the dangers in the enchanted forest and makes a brave soldier his friend. Together they make their way to his mother, but before she can be freed, they have to pass a few more tests.
