Where to Watch The Long Goodbye
- cultfilmlikerMay 20, 2026This was OK with me….actually, maybe less than OK Elliott Gould is cool but I didn’t find the comedy all too comedic or appealing The Al Jolson routine may have been a bit much… The movie literally has a song sing, “Can you recognize the theme?” lol Yeah, I’m just not an Altman guy. Whatever, sue me, sorry
- CubaneMay 5, 2026An adorable film from back when LA was a tiny little town with ten people in it. In fact all ten of them are in this movie; Including the orange stray cat. Marlowe is a classic hard-boiled private eye with endless wit and charm, and all 9 other residents of LA are classic stock straight out of the casing department. This movie pulls no punches, it doesn't waste time with filler. Every scene has a purpose and you're along for the ride. Enjoy it, there aren't many movies with as impeccable a depiction of 1970s LA. I hope Marlowe gets the cat back, and a lifetime supply of the only special cat food the cat likes. They both deserve to be happy.
