The Limey Ratings & Reviews
- russrev1ewsAugust 22, 2025I watched this because Ari Aster and Bill Hader referenced it on the recent a24 podcast, and wow, was this a great movie. Tight storytelling with very interesting editing and sequencing. You don’t learn a lot about the characters, but they are incredibly fleshed out both visually and with the performances. Great early soundtrack by Cliff Martinez sets the tone beautifully, and just an all-around great efficient crime caper.
- cultfilmlikerNovember 27, 2025I’m annoyed and just want to go rewatch The Hit now (aka my choice for the unofficial sequel to Goodfellas) There’s the potential for an interesting story from this but man I was not a fan of the overall execution. Reminds me of the Highest 2 Lowest remake. I know you’re supposed to hate the bad guy but when you can’t stand a single conversation he has or even just seeing his face on the screen, it might be a problem. I’m not into temu Lolita Didn’t believe Nicky Katt for a second lol sorry. And his dialogue. What the fuck lol Gimmicky direction / editing that I kinda enjoyed! And the flashbacks to an entirely different film! Soderbergh is the most confusing director to me. I really like some of the things he does but very rarely a whole film lol Basically, Soderbergh found a cool property and was forced to make a film around it
