- SpoonsOctober 13, 2024Who would have thought that a Batman movie made out of CGI Lego would give us the deep look into the caped crusaders relationship with The Joker and Robin! This is genuinely the best Batman film I have seen since Nolan's original. Ok, it's silly, it has massive musical numbers and as it is a Lego movie it also has Daleks and Voldermort in it! But it also keeps incredibly faithful to Batman from the comics to Adam West all the way up to references to Batman V Superman. I loved it and if you can get past the comedy bits there is a really good superhero movie here!!!!
- MrTrivetJanuary 26, 2026Holy heck, that was amazing, The Lego Batman Movie is a true magnus opus among Batman films, a pop culture mash-up that injects such hilarious, over-the-top visuals into the viewer that it’s sometimes hard to recover. No one parodies familiar Batman tropes like the Lego characters, though most jokes will fly over kids heads. The humor is clever, full of pop culture references and surprising plot twists. Beyond the comedy, the animation dazzles - the film looks like something that would spring from my imagination while doing doughnuts in the Batmobile (if my parents had ever bought me a Lego Batman). It’s a perfect blend of zany humor delivered with deadpan seriousness, visual extravagance, and nostalgia, showing why Batman remains culturally relevant to this day.
