This was MUCH better than the first one, at least in terms of plot. Also, the only thing these two movies have in common is the main character; otherwise there's no connection, and you can just skip the first one (which was awful). Once again, not enough kills, although better variety, and this movie was actually scary.

The Jester 2 (2025) is a low-budget horror sequel that tries to build on the cult appeal of its predecessor but only partially succeeds. While the addition of Max, a 15-year-old aspiring magician, adds a fresh perspective and some charm, the film suffers from uneven pacing and a story that often feels underdeveloped. The scares are modest at best, with a mix of practical and digital effects that occasionally betray the budget constraints. That said, the visuals, sound design, and nostalgic 90s-style horror vibe give it some atmosphere, and fans of quirky, small-scale horror might find it enjoyable despite its flaws. Overall, it’s a watchable but forgettable entry in the franchise.

A rather weak and uninspired sequel to the first which was surprisingly well done and good. There were promising moments but eventually reveled into making the Jester heroic in some ways and building lore that was not worthy of the premise. It also changed filming locations which should have been part of the lore from Frederick, Maryland to Missouri. The first was a breath of fresh air for low budget horror. This had poor acting, sad outcomes, questionable make up and special effects, a ridiculous amount being, and ended up embracing tropes that were avoided in the first such as “Let me get revenge on the mean boy.” Do better.
