The Island Ratings & Reviews
- Jeffery BrookshireSeptember 12, 2025Thought-provoking story set in a mostly realistic dystopia! There is plenty of action, so you don't get bored!
- carter2882January 19, 2026The Island wastes it’s potential of being a very cool thriller. The film has a really cool premise that sets up a lot but doesn’t follow through with it. The performances are fine same with the characters. There is plenty of Micheal Bay action here that of course is really over the top. The film does have some absurd dialogue that does not match the tone of the film. Overall the movie is a fine that had potential to be a really cool movie, but doesn’t succeed your expectations.
- RazorbitzNovember 29, 2025I watched this on one of those travel buses with the dinky little dvd players in them back in the mid 2000s and I thought it was the greatest movie ever. All I remembered was there were clones and ScarJo. I would say the first half of this movie is a pretty decent sci-fi set up and second half is a Michael Bay film. That's because this is a Michael Bay film. You can tell because of the explosions. It's alright.
- Lincoln and Blake FrankOctober 31, 2025The story is quite good, and the action scenes are excellent.
- GrimeFiVideoJuly 25, 2025A pretty surface-level scifi story, but it's an enjoyable watch. The movie is filled with all of the action sequences, sparks, and explosions you'd expect from a Michael Bay flick. It's got a great cast, and the acting is good despite having a lackluster script.
- Andrew CloutJuly 4, 2025A rewatch. Such a great movie with a refreshing plot. Seems current and relevant.
- Johan PotgieterJune 18, 2025Very enjoyable. The few action scenes are packed with carnage. Good acting and a great story. Highly recommend.
- ርልዪረJanuary 30, 2025💩After the great book 'The Island' this was a poor Mills and Bowne book - no real plot but lots of standart so called romance.
- Daniel GustavssonJanuary 23, 2025This actually starts pretty cool and interesting. Then they leave for the island, and the whole movie collapses. A real missed opportunity.
- gosso85September 5, 2025This is a one of the best advertisements for everything packed into one movie! Rumours are product placements helped fun 60% of this movie and it’s a bit distracting. However it’s an alright movie for Michael Bay, there are better ones out there, watch Bad Boys if you’re undecided.
- DjpJuly 30, 2025Great movie
- CharlotteCOSMICJuly 9, 2025Cinematically, fine. Story basis, tacky and patchy. *spoiler alert* Such as, if there was the technology to form an entire human body from scratch, then there would already be a way to just form an organ instead. And also, surely a clone would also be affected with the same ailments as the sick client, thus totally pointless. And if that read as too far fetched, then if the possibility of the clone gaining memory the clone never experienced that would also mean the possibility of gaining the same sickness as the affected client (in the realms of sci-fi logistics of 'anything being possible' then that means anything). But might want to skip over the part that a guy prized his 1/2million car over a 5million clone of himself 😅 weird.
- stolteclanJuly 3, 2025great action, silly and entertaining
- Mister ArnMay 22, 2025"The Island" boasts impressive visual effects and thrilling action sequences, but the film’s deeper themes feel underdeveloped, resulting in an entertaining yet ultimately forgettable experience.
- jackmeatMay 6, 2025My quick rating - 7.0/10. I forgot how much I liked this one. A very intricate plot to showcase an action flick.
