Will und Eden waren einst ein glückliches Pärchen. Nachdem die beiden jedoch ihren gemeinsamen Sohn auf tragische Weise verloren hatten, hat sich Eden ohne jede Vorwarnung und irgendwelche Spuren zu hinterlassen aus dem Staub gemacht. Zwei Jahre später taucht sie urplötzlich mit einem neuen Ehemann im Gepäck wieder auf und möchte sich als neuer Mensch mit ihrem Ex und all jenen, die sie einst hinter sich gelassen hat, aussöhnen. Bei einer Dinner-Party in dem Haus, das früher auch ihm gehört hat, wird Will allerdings das ungute Gefühl nicht los, dass Eden und ihr neuer Mann in Wahrheit weitaus finsterere Pläne für ihre geladenen Gäste haben. Spielen ihm seine Sinne einen Streich oder ist Eden wirklich nicht das, was sie vorgibt zu sein?

Welcome to The Invitation. 🧠🍷🪦 This movie is like sitting in a sauna with your ex and her suspiciously cheerful new friends while you slowly realize you’re either spiraling… or something very wrong is happening. And the best part? You genuinely can’t tell which. It’s giving: 🥵 Gaslight 🥶 Gatekeep 🥴 Grief Spiral From the slow-burn tension to the stomach-drop moments, it boils your brain like a frog in warm water—until you’re screaming into your wine glass. It’s creepy, culty, claustrophobic, and uncomfortably real. You’ll be asking yourself “is it me?” the entire time. (Spoiler: it’s not. But also… is it?) Highly recommended if you love that suffocating anxiety with a twist of trauma kind of cinema. Just… maybe don’t RSVP to any dinner parties after. 😵💫
