Very much in the same vain as Vietnam war movies, this is sensationalized with the intent of condensing every terrible thing that can happen in war into 2 hours. You won’t feel good watching it and that’s the purpose. Mission Accomplished
- Charles London1. juni 2025Basically a film about a slightly crazy bomb technician (diffuser) performing a crazy job under crazy conditions. Bigelow does a great job of creating tension and suspense, and she gives us plenty of it. She also examines the men inside the protective gear and combat fatigues on personal levels. Frankly, I would like to have seen more of this, even if it made the movie longer. Be aware that the environment for this story is dismal and joyless, but that simply comes with the nature of the material. If you're game for it, the movie can be a rewarding experience even if you don't feel good afterwards.

- ርልዪረ30. december 2025We don't always have the chance to appreciate great films, at least not from actual times. But this should be considered at least a jewel of the latest motion picture history. This is a near-perfect kind of film that shows the difference between some men who are used to work as a team and other man who rather play hero on such a dangerous situation as war itself. It also says a lot about war becoming an addiction for someone, and how that can turn into the most important thing in someone's life. I don't think these are words enough to describe how great this film is. Kathryn Bigelow, in my opinion, deserves the Oscar due to a wonderful development of her job as film director and, i probably think this should also be the best film winner too(i have no problem with Avatar or James Cameron, i do think they deserve the best special effects academy award, among others...). Jeremy Renner is another pretty amazing discovery, i can't make up my mind between him or Colin Firth(A single man)on who should win the best actor academy award.

The Hurt Locker is an intense, grounded Iraq war movie starring Jeremy Renner as a bomb disposal expert who can't quite leave the war behind. He can't quite shake the feeling that he's become more comfortable over there, than back at home. Pulse-pounding sequences truly drive home the weight of the dangerous work he does. Director Katheryn Bigelow became the first woman to win the Academy Award for Best Picture. It is well earned.
