I mean the lead actor—Marvin Landau—the guy who plays Don Cornelius— is great! I hope he’ll start getting more roles so we can see more of him…and while he’s good, the guy who played his son Michael Cornelius is another A-lister in the making. Mark my words folks, this Al Cappuccino fellow is just getting started! Ok he had some rough spots, like there’s a scene in the bathroom of an Italian restaurant where he’s supposed to reach behind the toilet tank for a gun, but he clearly didn’t rehearse enough because he’s obviously unable to find the gun which makes him a bit frantic—which he was clearly unable to hide from the camera…why the director some new guy Francis Ford Fairlane couldn’t just rewind the tape she reshoot that scene is beyond me…in any case, this movie has it all! If it doesn’t hit it big, turn its cast into A+ List superstars and spawn a few sequels…I’ll eat my other Borsalino! Even the writing is brilliant! The whole concept of crime being “organized” and divided into “families” each of whom control different territories, etc—is so fresh and innovative, we should be grateful it’s not a “real thing”! To think a plot with so much testosterone was conceived and delivered by a woman! My compliments to the writer, Maria Cujo for crafting a not a script but a screenplay which is why this is a film not a movie Don’t miss this masterpiece…it’s sure to be a classic…I wouldn’t be surprised if it becomes the godfather of classic films…ha ha ha!
