The Flash Ratings & Reviews
- SlayerSantiago1d agoThe Flash (2023) is a thrilling, time-bending adventure that cleverly mixes heartfelt moments with exhilarating multiverse mayhem. Michael Keaton’s return as Batman is a show-stealing highlight and offers the perfect pop of nostalgia throughout the film. And while I won’t spoil anything, let’s just say there’s a surprise near the end that pays off one of the most talked-about “what ifs” in superhero movie history. For longtime DC fans, The Flash delivers more than just speed — it offers some truly unforgettable moments.
- KainMarch 14, 2025not that bad! i think the ending was stupid especially after the leaks had a different actor. supergirl was pretty dope.
- neuroparadox3d ago"8 stars!" Screams Jon Peters as he starts cumming uncontrollably after edging for nearly 25 years. 🤣😂
- Paul SchwartzMarch 31, 2025Kinda drawn out yet I did very much enjoy having Michael Keaton as batman
- TomVaderJuly 4, 2025Ironically a better Batman movie than most Batman movies, and I appreciate that this isn't yet another origin story.
- 匚卂尺ㄥFebruary 23, 2025A new Dc Comics movie. Having seen previous ones not least 'Batman Vs Superman' 'Aquaman' and 'Justice League' will help a lot, otherwise you might get a bit confused. This is a loose adaptation of a DC comics story from 2011 called 'Flashpoint.' In which the Flash - Barry Allen - tries to save his mother from being killed when he was a boy. But finds that tampering with time has consequences. He's stuck in the new timeline. Batman here looks a little different. Can he fix things and get back to his right time? I am a DC fan first and foremost, so I am a bit biased. Or maybe it means that I'm just prepared to give things a chance. Also to go to the cinema and enjoy myself. As a result, I loved this. One of the best live action superhero films I've seen. You know sometimes you see a film and you think they clearly got the script sorted first? This is one of those. Solid and it flows perfectly. It hits the ground running [no procession of production company logos]. Has a wonderfully paced opening sequence that tells you all you need to know. And whatever you think of Ezra Miller the person, Ezra Miller the actor is amazingly good here, showing someone who has been scarred by past trauma. Then playing a dual role and making both parts very distinct characters. It is a Flash movie first and foremost. With some Batman. Barry gets great emotional arcs and a heroes journey. It really considers what this new world would be like - one brilliantly funny scene - and an awful lot of it was clearly filmed live. I did think I recognised some of the locations. And I was right. There's not that much cgi apart from when he's running and only a little bit of back projection. Said cgi is actually quite good, and any bits the internet didn't like are actually blink and you'll miss it. Michael Keaton is superbly understated. It uses a certain bit of music to fabulous effect. It was also great to see a big battle scene where there was genuine jeopardy and it didn't feel as if anyone was safe. The whole film doesn't play out entirely as I expected it to. Which was a pleasant surprise. Sasha Calle also makes an impression as Supergirl. Would be nice to see more of her in the role. I also love getting to first performances of films, and discovering them for myself. That way you can avoid spoilers and be genuinely surprised. And this does that. Several times. Seriously avoid spoilers. Seriously. Thoroughly enjoyed this. Well worth a watch.
- Manuel FrangisMarch 26, 2025I just watched The Flash and I honestly have to give it 0.5 out of 5 stars. I was really hoping this movie would be at least fun or have something cool to offer, but it ended up being one of the biggest disappointments I’ve seen in a long time. It’s messy, loud, all over the place, and just never clicked with me at all. I went in with low expectations, and somehow it still let me down. The biggest problem is the story, which is all over the place from the very beginning. It’s supposed to be a big multiverse, timeline-jumping adventure, but it never feels exciting or emotional. It’s more confusing than clever, and even when it tries to be serious or heartfelt, it falls flat. The pacing is weird too—some parts feel like they’re moving way too fast, and others drag on forever with nothing interesting happening. Ezra Miller plays Barry Allen aka The Flash, and I just couldn’t get into their performance. It’s awkward, forced, and kind of hard to watch at times. The jokes don’t land, the emotional moments feel fake, and even the action scenes don’t really help. The whole tone of the movie is off—like it’s not sure if it wants to be funny, dramatic, nostalgic, or just pure chaos. The visual effects in this movie are a huge mess, and not in a fun way. Some of the CGI looks completely unfinished. There are entire scenes where characters look like video game cutscenes from 15 years ago. For a movie that had a big budget and was supposed to be a major superhero event, that’s honestly embarrassing. It took me out of the story over and over again. There are a few cameos and surprises, and while I won’t spoil anything, even those felt cheap. They’re not earned, they don’t add much, and in some cases, they just felt like lazy attempts at getting fans to cheer. Nothing felt meaningful. It’s like the movie was trying to distract us with shiny objects instead of telling a good story. Some characters are just thrown in for no reason, and then they’re either barely used or completely wasted. The movie has so many chances to do something cool with its characters, and it just doesn’t. Even the big emotional arcs don’t land, because the writing never gives you a reason to care. You’re just expected to go along with whatever happens without feeling anything. The music and action sequences should’ve been highlights, but they felt just as thrown together as everything else. Some scenes had potential, but they never got the payoff they needed. It’s like the movie kept trying to build toward something epic and just never got there. I give The Flash 0.5 out of 5 stars because it barely gave me anything to enjoy. It had so much potential to be a cool multiverse story or a fun DC movie, but it ended up being a confusing, badly written, weird-looking mess that felt rushed and empty. Overall The Flash is a huge missed opportunity with weak performances, bad effects, and a story that never finds its footing. I really tried to find something to like, but this one just didn’t work for me at all. Definitely not a movie I’ll be revisiting.
- Timmy_B7d agoits trash
- mickerdooJuly 11, 2025Problem actor aside, a surprisingly decent release from DC. Liked the time element and the Batman iterations.
- Jameslikesmovies7d agoThe only good thing in this movie is Micheal Keaton, the cgi was terrible in the beginning. I was very excited to see Michael Keaton as Batman back on the screen, but it did not turn out well.
- Kevin WardJuly 2, 2025Some moments had me wanting to give this an instant 5 stars. Some moments felt purely to serve nostalgia and fan service. Those weren’t always mutually exclusive. Had a hell of a fun time though. Keaton has still got it. It was a bit of a rough start, if I’m being honest, but I THINK that’s because of some unpolished VFX. Once Keaton joins the fray, I was in for the ride.
- Scott SmithJuly 6, 2025I enjoyed this in the theater on the big screen, it looked great. It actually holds up well for rewatching on the big TV screen at home too. Bright, colorful, good action, some fun humor. A better movie than I remembered, and it gets too much hate from critics. It's one of the better DC Universe movies. Ezra isn't my favorite actor, but he's good in this.
- SkittlesxJune 22, 2025I recently watched The Flash and it was a bit of a rollercoaster for me. The opening scene where Barry saves the babies definitely felt very Flash-like, but the CGI was pretty off and made it look a bit funky. I really appreciated seeing Barry’s story unfold, something I’ve been waiting for since I was a kid, and I enjoyed the way they brought in the multiverse, with Michael Keaton’s Batman and the addition of Supergirl. However, I was disappointed with the villain choice and felt like the writing could have been stronger, especially since Reverse Flash would have been a more fitting antagonist for Barry’s story. The CGI overall left a lot to be desired, and some character arcs felt a bit rushed or underdeveloped. In the end, while my inner child was happy to see The Flash on screen, the rest of me was left feeling pretty disappointed overall.
- Mike MartinsJune 19, 2025🌟 "A Flashy Mess That Trips Over Its Own Agenda" The Flash (2023) had the potential to be a triumphant return for the DC Universe—especially with Michael Keaton back as Batman and a multiverse full of possibilities—but instead, it derails into a confused, overly "woke" spectacle that forgets what made the character great to begin with. The core problem? It sacrifices story and legacy for virtue-signaling and messy storytelling. The tone is wildly inconsistent—jumping from forced humor to awkward sentiment—and the once-iconic characters feel hollow or mishandled. Barry Allen is written more like a socially awkward TikTok meme than a superhero, and the emotional beats never land because they’re buried under CGI chaos and political undertones. It’s clear Warner Bros. wanted to ride the multiverse trend while checking boxes rather than honoring decades of comic lore. The visual effects are jarringly bad for a big-budget film, and the pacing is a slog despite all the action. Nostalgia bait can only carry a movie so far—especially when it forgets to respect its own source material. The Flash tries to be everything and ends up being nothing.
- tellumMay 29, 2025He puts a baby in a microwave and the movie goes from there.
